What is the minimum notice period for orders?

Cupcakes and Browniestacks - 1 week

Celebration Cakes - 2 weeks

Wedding Cakes - 3 weeks

How do I place an order?

When you are ready to make your order, visit our enquiry form on our website (URL). Please fill in as much detail as possible to help me provide you with an accurate quote for your cake. At a minimum please provide the date you would like to collect your order, the amount of servings you’d like your cake to have and include any designs/colour schemes you would like the cake to have. There is an option to upload an inspiration picture.

Once I have received all the information I need, I will contact you by email or whatsapp to provide you with your quote.

How much do celebration cakes start from?

The minimum order value starts at £75.00 for celebration cakes. The minimum order for cupcakes is 12 cupcakes at £30.00, of which can only be one flavour. If you wish to order multiple flavours, your order needs to be for more than 12 cupcakes.

When is my enquiry likely to be responded to?

I endeavour to reply to all enquiries within one week of them being made, therefore it is important to make your enquiry as early as possible to avoid disappointment. I will usually respond to enquiries in the evening hours of the day due to other work and family commitments. Please do not expect a response during the working day or weekends. 

How will I know what we have agreed for the order?

Once the design has been finalised and agreed, I will send an invoice which details the full description of the order that has been placed. 25% initial payment is required to secure this order. 

When will I need to pay for my order?

A 25% initial payment is required to secure your order. Only once this is received your booking will be secure. The remaining balance will be due a week before collection of your cake. For wedding cakes, remaining balance is due 3 weeks before your wedding date.

Can I reserve a date for my cake?

No. Only once the 25% initial payment is received your cake and date will be secure.

What happens if I need to cancel my order?

If you need to cancel your order, we reserve the right to retain your initial payment. 

For wedding cakes only, If cancellation takes place 3 weeks before the event then we reserve the right to keep 50% of the total price, or if cancellation occurs 7 days prior then 100% of the value with be retained to cover the costs of production of the cake.

Cancellation must be made in writing (by letter or email) to Zoe’s Bakeaway and will only be deemed to take effect from the date your letter/email is received at our premises. 

If you postpone the event we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation.

We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.

What products does Zoe’s Bakeaway offer?

Zoe’s Bakeaway prides itself on offering bespoke, handmade and personal celebration cakes, wedding cakes, cupcakes and browniestacks. 

What flavours are available to order?

For cakes and cupcakes, Vanilla, Lemon and Chocolate flavours are included as standard to choose from. If you would like something more luxury, you can choose from our bespoke list of flavours for a supplement cost of £7.50 for celebration cakes and £5.00 for cupcakes. These flavours are cookies & cream, biscoff, caramel or carrot cake.

What happens if I would like to change the design of my cake after it has been ordered?

Firstly, I would emphasise that it is your responsibility to read & check the quote thoroughly before agreeing to the order. Any amendments should be made in writing. We will try our best to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. 

For wedding cakes only, Zoe’s Bakeaway reserves the right to charge 75% of the initial quoted price should any changes or alterations made within 2 months prior to the event date reduce the final cost to less than 75% of the original quoted price.

Are you able to copy other people’s cake designs or recreate designs?

Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo. This is because Zoe’s Bakeaway has its own style and creative stamp, but also as it is unfair to the original creator of the cake to recreate their work without permission.

When can I collect my cake?

For collections on a Saturday or Sunday, the collection time is 10.00am, unless this has been discussed otherwise. It is unlikely on a weekend that collection will be outside of this time. 

For weekday collections, collection time is likely to be early morning or evening so please be prepared to collect your cake the day before if required. For weekday collections, the collection time will be confirmed with you. 

If you know you are going to be late for your collection, please let us know asap, as we may be able to amend collection time. If you fail to collect your cake within one hour of the collection time without us receiving any correspondence that you are going to be late, you will be subject to an additional £20.00 charge.

Where do I collect my cake from?

The collection is from Barwell, Leicestershire. PLEASE NOTE we do not have a retail premise. Zoe’s Bakeaway is run from a domestic property, therefore, the collection address will not be provided until initial payment is received and the booking is confirmed. 

Can you deliver my cake?

Delivery and set up is only available for wedding cakes. All other orders need to be collected from our address in Barwell. For wedding cakes, the delivery fee will be included in your overall quote.
